MLB Parlay Piece for June 5, 2023

St. Louis Cardinals Moneyline (+120)

The St. Louis Cardinals have been a colossal disappointment in the eyes of many baseball fans in 2023, but they are still more than capable of doing damage against left-handed pitching, against which they rank 5th in OPS and 3rd in ISO since May 15. Though Adam Wainwright has been uninspiring through his first five turns in the rotation, this game should be priced closer to a pick’em, creating value on the road underdogs here as part of this parlay.

Paul Goldschmidt 3+ Total Bases (+175)

Paul Goldschmidt came up empty against southpaw Rich Hill in yesterday morning’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but he has another great opportunity to damage against left-hander, Martin Perez on Monday night. On the season, Perez owns a 5.21 FIP, 1.47 WHIP, and a .290 opponent batting average against right-handed hitters. Goldschmidt owns a .310 batting average and a 124 wRC+ against southpaws. Expect a big night from the St. Louis first baseman.

Corey Seager 3+ total bases (+210)

Corey Seager has been a nightmare for opposing pitchers this season. Entering play on Monday, Seager owns a .352 batting average, 1.076 OPS, and a 193 wRC+ against right-handed pitching in 2023. Tonight, he gets to face Adam Wainwright, who has allowed a .400 opponent batting average against left-handed hitters in 2023. Seager could have a truly massive night at the dish to begin the new week.
