NRL 2023: Laurie Daley blocked from Manly Sea Eagles job over betting ties
The Manly powerbrokers have backtracked on their plans for the club's Everyone in League jersey to be worn again in 2023. CEO Tony Mestrov says any inclusive initiative will be left to the NRL. The club’s bid to employ Laurie Daley as a consultant coach was rejected because his radio presenting job has ties to betting industry. Anthony Seibold was officially unveiled as the Sea Eagles new coach. He declined to give his personal views on whether Manley should wear the jersey. Des Hasler left the team in 2012. Seven of the players sat out a crucial clash with the Roosters in objection to it.
