On Sunday, the MLB slate features 15 games, with plenty of action staggered throughout the day – giving bettors plenty of options to choose from as they look to get involved in the action.

In the last nine days alone, we have cashed a +758 parlay, a +837 parlay, and a +711 parlay. We nearly cashed another +940 parlay on Friday, but the Colorado Rockies blew a seventh-inning lead as +320 underdogs, losing 2-1 to the Los Angeles Dodgers. On Friday, we went 2-1 again on plus-money plays, but lost the parlay because Joey Votto didn’t collect two total bases.

Not counting the All-Star Game, we have cashed eight tickets in this article, narrowly missed 25 winners, and had 19 tickets seemingly dead on arrival. Playing longshot parlays each day, these results are within the parameters of what is expected. As we highlight every day, these plays have been exceptionally profitable if played as individual tickets.

In this article, we never post a ticket with shorter than +700 odds, meaning that we only need to hit once each week to be profitable. Overall, these plays are 86-65-1 (57.5%) if played as straight wagers, many of which have been significant alt-lines, even as individual tickets.

Below, we break down our favorite longshot (+716) look for August 13, focusing on today’s matchup between the Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers!

MLB Parlay Piece for August 13, 2023

Kyle Freeland u3.5 Strikeouts (+120)

According to props.cash, Kyle Freeland has eclipsed this market number in only 11 of his 22 starts this year, and only four of 11 starts since May 30. This afternoon, he will have to contend with the vaunted Los Angeles Dodgers lineup, which ranks 3rd in OPS, 4th in ISO, 2nd in BB%, and 2nd in K% against southpaws during the month of August. At plus money, this is a worthwhile inclusion in today’s longshot parlay.

Enrique Hernandez 2+ Total Bases (+115)

Since joining the Los Angeles Dodgers at the trade deadline, Kike Hernandez owns a .320 batting average, .884 OPS, and a 138 wRC+. Hernandez has always been at his best against left-handed pitching, which makes him particularly appealing today against Kyle Freeland, who has struggled to a 5.82 FIP and a 1.56 WHIP against right-handed batters in 2023. The market has still not caught up to Hernandez’s hot bat, giving this play value at plus money.

Freddie Freeman 2+ Total Bases (-115)

Entering play on Sunday, Freddie Freeman has gone back-to-back games without an extra-base hit, including an 0-for-4 performance at the plate on Saturday. Freeman has been one of the game’s premier hitters against left-handed pitching in 2023, with a .354 batting average, 1.127 OPS, and a 202 wRC+. Don’t be surprised if he has a big day at the dish as he looks to break out of his mini-slump.
