The young pretender hoping you benefit from the rise of the 20-somethings
The Open Championship has been won by Cameron Smith and Collin Morikawa in the last two years. US Open has seen three twenty-somethings triumph in last three tournaments in form of Matt Fitzpatrick, Bryson DeChambeau, and Jon Rahm. Top five golfers in world are currently all under 30.
Kim Joo-hyung finished 23rd in the US Open and tied in 47th place in Open Championship this year. He is now ranked 19th in World Golf Ranking. Justin Rose won the 1998 Open as a 17-year-old amateur. Jon Rahm won his first major championship at the age of 27 in 2021. Rory McIlroy won two majors in 2011 and 2014. He won at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Merseyside, England in 2014 and at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, San Diego in 2019.
Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm are favorites to win the Open Championship in 2023. Kim Joo-hyung is an outsider to emerge victorious. The 20th US Open will take place next June at the Los Angeles Country Club. The Open Championships will be held at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake in July 20 2323 for the first time since 2014.
