First-leg stats point to Juventus win

Juventus take a 1-0 lead into the second leg but may feel they should have a greater advantage after squandering a number of opportunities at Allianz Stadium.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side had 20 shots in the first leg, six of them on target, but Angel Di Maria’s 53rd-minute goal was the only reward for their dominance.

Freiburg had more possession and made more passes on the night but worryingly mustered just one off-target effort on goal.

A player in a rich vein of form at present, Di Maria is certainly one to look out for in the goalscorer markets.

The Argentina winger has bagged five goals in Juve’s previous six games in all competitions and four of those have come in the last three away games, including a hat-trick away to Nantes.

Well priced at 14/5, Di Maria is worth considering in the any-time goalscorer market.

Juve find their shooting boots

While Allegri will be happy with how his side have been shutting out teams, Juventus have also looked strong in the final third.

The Serie A giants have scored 12 goals in their last five games and ran out 4-2 winners over Sampdoria at the weekend.

With Di Maria in hot form and striker Dusan Vlahovic attracting interest from top clubs in Europe, Juve should have enough firepower to bag at least a couple of goals on the night in Freiburg.
