The New York Mets head into Baltimore to take on the Orioles in game 1 of their series on Friday night. Pitching for the Mets will be David Peterson, who has a 3-7 record with a 5.92 ERA and 1.62 WHIP. Outside of K%, his percentile rankings are poor. He sits in the 16th percentile for xBA, 33rd percentile for xSLG and 41st percentile for BB%. He also has horrendous away game splits, posting a 1-5 record with an 8.41 ERA and 1.84 WHIP. The Orioles bats are no joke and it is possible that Peterson runs into some trouble in this matchup. 

Coming to the mound for the Orioles will be Dean Kremer, who has a 10-4 record with a 4.66 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. Similar to Peterson, Kremer also does well in one category (BB%) but ranks in the lower end for all other percentile rankings such as xBA (11th percentile), xSLG (7th percentile) and K% (40th percentile). His home splits are worse than his away splits, as he has a 5.51 ERA and 1.35 WHIP at home compared to his 3.70 ERA and 1.32 WHIP for away appearances. With both pitchers putting up mediocre numbers, I’ll side with the over in this one.
