United can end Spurs’ top-four dream

Spurs will be looking to restore some respect and bounce back from Sunday’s humiliating 6-1 defeat at Newcastle United when they host Manchester United on Thursday.

That result led to interim boss Cristian Stellini losing his job and Ryan Mason being brought in for the second time in a caretaker capacity.

United head into this game on the back of reaching the FA Cup final with a penalty-shootout victory over Brighton and Erik ten Hag's side will take some stopping to be denied the three points.

Back-to-back defeats to Bournemouth and Newcastle have severely dented Tottenham's hopes of finishing in the top four and United can all but end that dream with a victory.

The Red Devils head into this game in good form after winning their last three Premier League games against Brentford, Everton and Nottingham Forest.

Their recent form against Tottenham has been impressive too, with sour successive wins in meetings between the sides.

Considering the contrasting form, Ten Hag’s side look capable of extending their winning run and strengthening their claim to be the best of the rest behind frontrunners Arsenal and Manchester City.

Goals on the cards in the capital

Encounters between these sides are not usually short on goals – an eye-catching 22 have been scored in their last five Premier League meetings at an average of 4.4.

Considering the attacking talent on show for both teams and the sometimes questionable nature of both defences, there should be plenty of goals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for this one.

Over 3.5 goals over the course of the game is available at an attractive price of 13/8.

Tottenham vs Manchester United tip 2: Over 3.5 goals @ 13/8 with Betfred

Romero ill-disciplined

And what Tottenham game would be complete these days without a yellow card for defender Cristian Romero.

The 24-year-old has earned nine bookings in the Premier League this season – more than any other player on the Spurs payroll.

Romero picked up a booking in the last game between these sides in north London and might well land himself in hot water with the referee Anthony Taylor once again.

Taylor dished out three yellow cards in his previous Premier League game and that was on the back of showing eight yellows and a red in the Europa League clash between Roma and Feyenoord.

Meanwhile, to boost the odds with Betfred's #PickYourPunt, both teams to score is certainly worth considering.

Both teams have found the back of the net in five of the last seven league meetings between these sides and, with plenty more goals expected on Thursday, it could well land again.
