Ky. Derby 2024: Last-out stakes winner leads 5 on Friday tab

Last Call London, who beat California-breds in the King Glorious on Dec. 17, returned to the work tab Friday for the first time since that win. He worked four furlongs in 49.2 seconds at San Luis Rey Downs, trainer Peter Miller's base. The son of Stay Thirsty is a two-time winner in eight starts, and is 250-1 in Las Vegas futures.

Among the horses who worked Friday, the shortest price in the futures is the 100-1 on Mystik Dan. The son of Goldencents romped at odds-on by 7 3/4 lengths in a maiden special weight at Churchill on Nov. 12. However, the Ken McPeek trainee needs to bounce back from a fifth-place effort in an allowance-optional claiming race there on Nov.25, in which he crossed the wire eight lengths behind Who Dey.
