Ky. Derby: Big Prankster fires bullet; 7 futures horses breeze

Recent maidenwinner Big Prankster, who is a 250-1 long shot in the Las Vegas futures forKentucky Derby 2024, had a bullet workout Friday at Belmont Park.

ThePractical Joke colt who is trained by Christophe Clément was clocked at 36.5seconds for three furlongs, the fastest time among the 14 horses who coveredthat distance on the training track.

BigPrankster broke his maiden on his third try, winning a six-furlong race Dec. 1at Aqueduct. He finished second in his first two races over the same track.

Sevenhorses who are listed in the Nevada futures for the Derby appeared on the worktab Friday.

BigPrankster (Practical Joke), worked three furlongs in36.5 seconds at Belmont Park on Friday morning. It was the fastest of 14 worksat the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last starthe won a maiden race going six furlongs on the main track at Aqueduct on Dec. 2for trainer Christophe Clement.

Book’em Danno (Bucchero), worked four furlongs in 49.6seconds at Tampa Bay Downs. It was the 38th fastest of 100 works at thedistance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start heplaced second in the Nashua going one mile on the main track at Aqueduct onNov. 5 for trainer Derek Ryan.

Crazy Mason (Coal Front), worked four furlongs in 50.6seconds at Tampa Bay Downs. It was the 67th fastest of 100 works at thedistance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start heplaced second in the Inaugural going six furlongs on the main track at TampaBay Downs on Dec. 2 for trainer Greg Sacco.

Legalize (Constitution), worked four furlongs in 48.8seconds at Keeneland. It was the 18th fastest of 28 works at the distance. Hisprevious work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Keeneland. In his laststart he won a maiden race going seven furlongs on the main track at ChurchillDowns on Nov. 25 for trainer Cherie DeVaux.

No More Time (Not This Time), worked four furlongs in48.9 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the second fastest of 19 works at thedistance. His previous work was six days ago going three furlongs at PalmMeadows.
