20 Kentucky Derby hopefuls work including Knightsbridge

Two last-out winners with significant futures interest worked Friday morning for the first time since those wins. Knightsbridge, who broke his maiden by a dazzling 10 1/2-length margin for trainer Bill Mott at Churchill Downs on Nov. 7, worked four furlongs at Payson Park.

Off of that impressive debut, his best price in Las Vegas is 35-1, putting him in the top 10 among futures choices. Carbone, an allowance winner Dec. 31 at Oaklawn for Steve Asmussen, worked five furlongs over that track. Off that four-length romp, he is a 70-1 best price in Las Vegas.

A pair of last-out graded-stakes winners also worked Friday morning. Wynstock, winner of the Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) on Dec. 16, worked a sharp four furlongs at Santa Anita. Off of that early-season prep win, his best price in Las Vegas is 175-1. Stay Hot, a 200-1 long shot who won the Cecil B. DeMille (G3) on the lawn, posted a three-furlong work.

Alder (Hard Spun), worked four furlongs in 48.2 seconds at Turfway Park on Friday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 56 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Turfway Park. In his last start he placed fourth in an allowance race going one mile on the synthetic at Turfway Park on Dec. 22 for trainer Brad Cox.

Bergen (Liam's Map), worked four furlongs in 47.9 seconds at Belmont Park on Friday morning. It was the 22nd fastest of 154 works at the distance. His previous work was 13 days ago going five furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed second in an allowance race going one mile on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 25 for trainer Brad Cox.

Better Than Gold (Nyquist), worked six furlongs in 1:14.6 at Santa Anita on Friday morning. It was the slower of two works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he won a maiden race going one mile on the main track at Del Mar on Dec. 2 for trainer Gary Mandella.

Carbone (Mitole), worked five furlongs in 1:03.8 at Oaklawn on Friday morning. It was the 14th fastest of 25 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won an allowance race going one mile on the main track at Oaklawn on Dec. 31 for trainer Steve Asmussen.

Hunt Ball (Into Mischief), worked four furlongs in 49.2 seconds at Payson Park on Friday morning. It was the sixth fastest of 40 works at the distance. His previous work was 15 days ago going three furlongs at Payson Park. In his last start he placed fifth in a maiden race going one mile on the main track at Aqueduct on Nov. 4 for trainer Bill Mott.

Informed Patriot (Hard Spun), worked four furlongs in 50.4 seconds at Oaklawn on Friday morning. It was the 16th fastest of 43 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed third in the Smarty Jones going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Oaklawn on Jan. 1 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
