Kentucky Derby workout report: Updates on 34 hopefuls

Here is a list of timed works since Sunday by potential contenders for Kentucky Derby 2024. The contenders were listed late last week in the futures betting market.

A few bullet works stand out. Stronghold worked five furlongs in 59.0 seconds at Los Alamitos on Sunday, and Wine Me Up went the same distance in 59.6 at Santa Anita. E J Won the Cup went four furlongs in 47.4 at Santa Anita.

Mischief Joke (Practical Joke) worked three furlongs in 36.4 seconds at Belmont Park on Tuesday morning. It was the fastest of four works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park.
